Will you be climbing up these steps next September?
Probably not, because I don't think it's a public school in New York City, but it is the generic photo the Department of Education website uses for most of the schools in the city. In any case, the high school selection season is now in full swing, and I would love for you to share your thoughts with each other. What schools look interesting to you? Which ones have you visited? Which ones do you think people should avoid applying to. Be sure to explain why a particular school might interest you, being as specific as possible. i think that urban school of business is a good school for girls who want to stay away from all the boy drama and i also think that NYCischool is a good school because the way you learn to teach is awesome its like you talk to your teachers by webcam they can be in another country and they are teaching you .

I think that Manhattan Village Academy is good school because it has a lot of activity's that you could just like CAS. Another school that i like is Food and Fiance because it deals with thinking skills that is helpful.

i think that Beacon is a good school because you get travel to places all around the world. There is also many sports to particepate in like tennis,basketball and x-country. the classes are also taught in cool ways and people are aloud to express there feelings.
I think the high school for health professions is a good high school if you want to prepare to be in any sort of health professions like a child's doctor.

Health Professions is supposed to help prepare you for a career in the health professions, but I would be careful about schools that have a focus like that.
First, just because they're focused on something you're interested in does not make them a good school. I know very little about the school you're talking about, but I was able to find out that their grade was a B and a C over the past 2 years, and that their graduation rate is around 80%--not terrible, but not great either.
Second, sometimes students think that they'll be wearing a stethoscope and working on patients at a health professions high school or doing history research all the time at Facing History. Some of these focused schools may have only one or two optional classes that actually deal with the school's focus--the rest will be the standard math/science/English/history that you have to do everywhere else.
Don't be fooled by their name--go check them out.

I agree with Simeon. Beacon is a good highschool beacuase they give you all the help you need and really work hard to give you your education. My brother went to Beacon and he was really succecfull. Beacon will help you reach your goal and really give you the help you need.

The school i want to go to is Bronx Science(a specialized high school).it has many language classes and sports that i like such as basketball, football, and handball. it is a great school because its progress report is an a and it has a high graduation rate.also, its close to my house.Michael Ruiz 8C
I agree with Dana that Manhattan Village Academy is a good school because it can be compaed to many different ways as Community Action School. One school that im intrested in is Aviation Carrer & Technical Education High School because my cousin goes to this school in queens and said that he feels proud with his high school selection because the school helps you alot on working with you about your future in engineering carrer. It also intrest me because one of my dads friends graduated from the very same school and has had success in his life ever since. - Milton Brandon Coradin 8A
I think Manhattan Hunter Science High School is a good high school if your interested in science, but not so much. I like it because I live 2 blocks away from it and im sort of interested in science. The downside it that it has uniform and metal dectictors. I also think Eleanor Roosevelt High School because it has a very high graduation rate.
The school that i want to attend to is Millennuium high school.This school has had two A for the past two years.It also has many different actives for everyone.Also their graduation rate has a very high rate. I also planned to go to a school that doesn't have many students like Millennuim. The best part is that us students don't have to wear uniform!! I think this school is a best chocie for me.

The school that interest me is High school for Health professions and Human services. I like it because it has cool programs that are really for me. I also like the sports that they have. -Fabian Rodriguez 8c
